I recently had a wonderful stay at a guest house in the Pobes area called Casa Rural Lagun Etxea. The owner was incredibly accommodating, waiting up for us even though our ferry had been delayed by 4 hours. The pet-friendly property had secure parking facilities and a super king-size bed that made for a comfortable night's sleep. The continental breakfast provided in the morning was just what we needed to start our day. I have visited this exceptional property four times over the years and always had a great experience.

Although it didn't bother us too much, it's worth mentioning that there is a nearby train track and some traffic noise. , there were a few minor issues in our room, such as peeling paint on the wall and a distinct odor that seemed to come from the mold in the shower.

The property was very clean and quiet. Friendly and helpful host. Most comfortable beds in twenty years of travelling in Spain. Secure parking at the rear. Good selection of breakfast including local bread and cakes. Dog-friendly hotel with a nearby field for dogs to run.

The location of the hotel was excellent, just a short distance from the main road and easily accessible. The staff were welcoming and helpful, making us feel at home during our Christmas stay. We also appreciated the well-equipped shared kitchen, which allowed us to cook our own meals and saved us from having to go out to find a restaurant.

There were a few negative aspects to our stay. there were limited dining options nearby, with only a few small café/bars within walking distance.
